The Countdown Begins
It was a nerve-racking day for the team as last minute details were finalized to prepare for tomorrow’s start. Martin, Borut, and Jamie hired a guide with the fastest boat available to take them on a scouting mission.
The speedy craft weaved through a maze of islands and floating debris to record observations for the first 100 km of the expedition. Martin will begin swimming at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Tonight he will attempt to sleep three or four hours as he mentally prepares himself for the longest and most dangerous swim in our planet’s history.
